A Festival Filled With Balloons, Activities, and Attractions
Each fall, the skies above Albuquerque transform into a breathtaking sea of color as hundreds of hot air balloons take flight at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Since its beginnings in 1972, this nine-day celebration has grown into the world’s largest ballooning event, attracting thousands of attendees from around the globe. The Husband & Wife Law Team (HWLT) was proud to participate in this extraordinary event for our second year, connecting with ballooners in one of New Mexico’s most celebrated annual traditions!

From early-morning balloon launches to evening drone shows, the Balloon Fiesta offers something for everyone. Once daylight peaked over the horizon, the National Anthem was performed, signaling the start of the morning’s festivities. As the first balloons began to inflate, their colorful envelopes gradually rose into view, creating a breathtaking scene from any vantage point. On one particularly memorable morning, Mark and Alexis stepped aboard the balloon bearing their image and took to the skies themselves, experiencing the Fiesta from an entirely new perspective!
For those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground, the Fiesta de los Globitos offered its own miniature take on the spectacle. This attraction featured small, remote-controlled hot air balloons tethered to the ground, delighting children and adults alike.
Among the festival’s most memorable events were the Special Shape Rodeo and Special Shape Glowdeo. During the Rodeo, balloons shaped like whimsical characters, creatures, and other imaginative designs filled the sky, giving attendees plenty to marvel at. As evening fell, the Glowdeo brought an entirely different kind of magic. Oversized balloons illuminated the darkening sky, their colorful forms glowing against the dusk.
Even when windy conditions grounded the balloons, the festival grounds remained full of activity. Visitors could browse vendor booths, watch skilled woodcarvers transform massive logs into intricate sculptures, and take part in the beloved tradition of pin trading. Collectors from around the world brought pins to exchange, turning a shared hobby into an opportunity to discover unique designs and connect with fellow enthusiasts.

HWLT was proud to welcome festivalgoers to our booth throughout the event. Visitors enjoyed free HWLT pins and trading cards, participated in games, and entered our raffle for the chance to win a $1,000 flight credit. Our winner, Madonna S, plans to use her prize to take her sister to Las Vegas for a fun getaway!
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a tradition that brings people together from around the world to share experiences and create lasting memories. HWLT was honored to be part of this extraordinary event, and we look forward to strengthening those connections while making new memories with the community for years to come!
