Monthly Teacher Appreciation Contest

Arizona personal injury attorneys Mark and Alexis Breyer, known as The Husband & Wife Law Team, have seen many teachers give their all to see that Arizona children get the best education they can. As parents of 8 kids themselves, they decided to give back to some of these amazing educators.

To show their appreciation to dedicated teachers in their community, Alexis and Mark Breyer founded The Husband & Wife Law Team’s Teacher Appreciation Program in 2010. The program awards one teacher per month $500 for classroom supplies and includes extras such as a commemorative plaque and a pizza party for their entire class. All Arizona teachers from elementary through high school are eligible to be nominated.

Mark and Alexis feel strongly about supporting teachers who do so much for their kids. "We have seen so many teachers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to see that our children get the best education they can,” they stated. “So, we decided to give back to some of the most impactful teachers in Arizona."

Rewarding Teachers for their Extra Efforts

According to The Journal, public school teachers nationwide spent more than $1.33 billion out of their own pockets to supply their classrooms in the 2009-2010 school year. This number has continued to increase each year as the back-to-school list grows for students, and some families can’t afford to purchase all the classroom necessities. If you know a teacher who goes the extra mile with their time and finances to the benefit of their students, nominate them for a chance to win!

Teacher of the Year

The Teacher Appreciation Program has allowed us to showcase so many amazing educators across Arizona.

To further expand our impact, we launched the Teacher of the Year award in 2026! This award provides a $5,000 donation to the winning teacher's school for supplies, equipment, and learning enhancements.
